Salomon's Backyard Bang Rail Jam Tour Tahoe Stop at Mont Bleu Casino

Lake Tahoe, Nev. – March 15, 2010 – Salomon Snowboards will host the Salomon Backyard Bang rail jam at South Lake Tahoe’s Mont Bleu Casino and Resort on Saturday, March 27, 2010. The event will feature Tahoe’s elite local snowboarding athletes competing for a $2,000 cash purse prize.

The Salomon Backyard Bang will be held in the Mont Bleu parking lot under the lights by the marquee with top competitors jibbing On Course Event’s traveling 30’ triple-rail feature. The event is invite only and limited to 30 competitors. Athletes will be competing for $2,000 – winner takes all. There will also be a beer garden, tent village and DJ.

“I wanted to create an event that combined snowboarding, art and music,” said local Salomon snowboard rep Ryan Kronenberg. “This event has the best of all three and will change the way people think about the integration of these elements.”

Aspen/Snowmass, Colo., March 15, 2010 – The third annual CoverGirl Snow Angels Invitational, hosted by Aspen/Snowmass, will once again be held in Snowmass, April 2 – 4, 2010.

Confirmed riders for this season’s event include: Gretchen Bleiler, Kelly Clark, Elena Hight, Sarah Conrad, Ellery Hollingsworth, Mercedes Nicoll, Linn Haug, Maddy Schaffrick, Haruna Matsumoto, Soko Yamaoka, Sophie Rodriguez and Ursina Holler. A complete list of riders will be announced in the coming weeks.

Treble Cone Announces New Initiatives for 2010 Winter Season

LAKE WANAKA, New Zealand (March 15, 2010) – An international standard big air and an extension of its ski improvement programme are just two of the new initiatives announced today by Treble Cone Ski Area as it gears up for the 2010 winter season.

A site in the Main Basin has been identified for a permanent big air kicker, built to FIS (Federation International de Ski) specifications. The purpose built feature will compliment the natural freeride terrain Treble Cone is renowned for and provide a spectacular venue for international standard Big Air competition overlooking the famous Treble Cone view. Its location within sight of the main six-seater express chairlift allows all mountain-goers to enjoy the spectacle.

Tignes, France – March 12 2010 - O’Neill team rider Eric Willett has won Gold at the inaugural Winter X Games Europe Slopestyle, taking victory ahead of a host of international talent.

The 22-year-old American from Breckenridge, Colorado won gold with 91 points ahead of American Sage Kotsenburg and Slovenian Marko Grilc.

Kaitlyn Farrington Wins European X-Games Halfpipe

Sequim, WA – March 12, 2010 – 20-year-old Gnu rider and Sun Valley, Idaho- native Kaitlyn Farrington won her first X-Games Halfpipe gold medal at the inaugural Winter X Games Europe in Tignes, France.

Farrington surprised everyone by upsetting reigning Olympic Halfpipe Gold Medalist Torah Bright by a full two points. Using her Gnu C2 Power Banana, Kaitlyn linked together an impressive run featuring a backside 540, stalefish air, backside 900, frontside 720, and cab 720.
